2014 is roaring in and we are so excited to see what this year's couples are planning for their wedding designs. Here are some wedding trends we hear are going to be super-hot in Portland, from our own clients and also talking with colleagues around town:
Interactive art walls or art installations. So fun we had to do a whole post about it, read here. We even had one couple grab all the art off the walls of their own home and display it during cocktail hour, creating an art gallery atmosphere.

Gowns with sleeves and lace - Princess Kate and the Royal Wedding still looms large in terms of design influence.

Charcoal grey paired with pastels like mint and pink for Spring and Summer weddings, and also with the Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. Last year's Color of the Year, Emerald, is still strong. (What many are unaware of is that Pantone, when it pinpoints its Colors of the Year, is speaking to upcoming trends in all walks of design. Wedding colors, rooted as they are in cultural and regional preferences, don't tend to change quite as quickly as in fashion and advertising - so the Color of the Year from 1 or even 2-3 years ago is often just starting to be seen in weddings several seasons later. So, be on the lookout for lots of emerald and all variations thereof this year!)

I've never been offered a roasted Pop-Tart at a wedding before. Interesting.
I love the idea of having personal art work on the walls at the reception. The concept could be modified in a number of ways.

I love the sleeve and lace trend that extends itself not only to the gown, but is reflected in the invitations and table settings.
