We recently had the opportunity to tour the newly-reopened Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River, Oregon...

We braved the icy roads of I-84 to meet with Kim Bosch, Director of Sales, of the newly-reopened Columbia Gorge Hotel. As many of you may know, the hotel closed last fall due to financial problems. The hotel has now been acquired by new owners, and brought in North Pacific Management to run the hotel. Midge Dobbs, CMP, Regional Sales Manager for North Pacific, is a long-time colleague of mine from my Meeting Professionals International days, so, between her and Kim, I know the hotel is now in great hands.
Kim toured us throughout the 39 upscale sleeping rooms and let me know about some of the upcoming renovations in store.
The hotel offers outdoor and indoor ceremony sites with many options. There are lots of wedding photos to browse on their website.
If you already have a wedding venue, the hotel offers smaller banquet rooms, such as their Falls Room with a lovely view of the river, for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, bridesmaid luncheons.
Capacity is in the range of 100-150 guests for a wedding ceremony with reception and dancing. And if you have guests who aren't up for any of the 39 upscale sleeping rooms at CGH, there are many other local hotel choices such as the Vagabond Lodge, Oak Street Hotel, and Hood River Hotel, not to mention the numerous bed-and-breakfasts and inns in the Hood River and Columbia Gorge area.
I've being researching about Hotels and reading your blog, I found your post very helpful :) . I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog!

Such a beautiful venue for outdoor wedding ceremony. Green is really a great contrast.
