Indoor Weddings

Outdoor weddings aren't the only option in Oregon. In the Portland area, we are lucky to have many gorgeous ballrooms, loft spaces, theaters, warehouses, and even some quirky locations like bank vaults where you can hold your indoor event and not worry one whit about the weather. We're including photos of churches and temples in this album as well. Sometimes, for a Portland wedding, only the ceremony or only the reception may be held indoors. We've also thrown in a few weddings we've done out of state, to keep things interesting!

Where do you get such wonderful things?

I just got back from returning a red aisle runner to our dear friend Mike Piper at An Affair to Remember.  Not only is he a great wedding coordinator, he is also an amazing florist and has a huge selection of unique props that I love to raid.  The red rose petal aisle runner that you see in the last blog post is one of those things!  Apparently his mother sewed all of those rose petals on by hand?!?  (Don't forget, Sunday is Mother's Day!)  It just reminds me how important in this business it is to make contacts and build relationships, because you never know what wonderful things your colleagues have in their warehouses.

shout out to The Bridal Loft!

As many of you know, The Bridal Loft bridal salon in NE Portland has been EJP Events' physical home since 2002.  We love these ladies and have so much fun being their "roommates" in business.

Andrea Hoyt of August Veils, also a Bridal Loft member (or "Loftie", as we like to say) just got a fabulous write up and feature of her custom veil and headpiece design in the Oregonian's special bridal issue

This is a great article featuring Andrea's expertise and some beautiful styles!  Read the full article here:

thoughts on service

Today, I called a florist with a last-minute request for a few more napkins and linens.  The wedding is tomorrow, it's been a very elaborate, complex one, and as I was going over the list I realized that a few service tables might not have linens, and I didn't want any franticness on the day of the event.

Simply Chic Weddings - Creative Resources for the Modern Bride

I was really happy to be invited to join a resource group of local wedding businesses called Simply Chic Weddings.  Their goal is to provide "creative resources for the modern bride".  Very cool!  SCW has their own blog too, just click here to see.  I can't wait to contribute to this fun group.

Outdoor weddings

Here are a few of the outdoor weddings EJP Events has had the pleasure to plan and coordinate. You'll see a wide range of wedding styles, from the casual backyard dinner dance to a simply elegant golf course wedding. Sometimes the ceremony is outdoors; sometimes the reception; and sometimes both. We hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration for your own outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. cover photo courtesy BMAC Photography.
